UNIT 20
Spectres of the Frame
This major design project seeks to investigate the compositions of manipulation in space and how tactics of manipulation by DM Buss (D.M Buss et al.) could be used to reimagine alternate architectural spaces. Drawing from the Unit’s theme; architecture and film, the project will explore the manipulative strategies within film and the gaming industry to explore manipulation and illusion on different scales. Firstly, we will explore manipulation at a small scale, secondary at a medium scale and finally at a small-to-medium scale. Exploring strategies in relation to space as well as how strategies unfold in a space.
Compositions of Manipulation uncovers ways architecture acts as a prop at different scales. How can architecture can be used as a prop to produce criminality throughout these different scales?
